CalledOut Music and Guvna B led the winners at this year’s sold out Premier Gospel Awards, which saw both artists win two awards each.
CalledOut Music picked up prizes for Best Male and Best Video for Love Around, while Guvna B won gongs for Best Album for Hands Are Made For Working and Best Song for Cast Your Cares featuring the Kingdom Choir.

This year’s awards took place at Oasis House in Croydon, the same plush venue as last year. There were live performances from the likes of Diana Hamilton, Andrew Bello, Sounds of New Wine, and US guest, the multi-Grammy award nominated Anita Wilson.
Kept secret until the night itself, high-flying soul star Samm Henshaw also took to the stage alongside UK gospel mainstay Becca Folkes, who also won the award for Best Female. Our highlight was the performance from Tab Worship whose brand of worship completely lit up and transformed the atmosphere of the room.
Both on stage and in the audience, we saw huge sections of the UK gospel scene coming together to celebrate the evening and the achievements of the artists and those working alongside them behind the scenes.

“I’m very humbled. A lot of work went into the album so I’m grateful to have won this award,” said Guvna B after picking up his second award of the night for his project Hands Are Made For Working. “My dad passed away pretty suddenly and I realised I struggled to deal with my emotions and my grief. Music was a very therapeutic way of me processing what I was going through. It kinda started off as a lyrical diary and at the end of it, I thought this could actually help people that have gone through similar things.”
