The countdown to Midnight Oil continues as the dates – 5-6 August – quickly approach. This year is special as it marks the 5th year of conference and sees the event return to the venue of the first ever Midnight Oil Summit – Bethel Convention Centre, West Bromwich.
Midnight Oil has now cemented itself as one of the most significant youth events in the Christian calendar but this year the organisers are keen to stress that this year, more than ever, is one for the whole family.
So what’s going down? Well this year, the theme is Faith, Favour, Fight and a lineup of anointed musicians and artists will be present alongside a huge number of teachers, preachers, dancers and worship leaders.
The artists this year include Guvna B, Noel Robinson, LZ7 and Matthew Allen to mention just a few. As well as this, the Good News Choir and FLOW – a contemporary dance group have been added to the bill as community based projects. And the speakers? How about Wayne Brown, Mark Liburd, Bishop John Francis and Bishop Wayne Brown?
Seth Pinnock, the founder of Midnight Oil have come a long way since the first incarnation of the event when he was just 16 years old. He has spearheaded this nationwide revolution and has been used by God to engage countless young people from different communities.
I’ve attended each event so far and recommend it as an awesome weekend to attend.
Tickets are priced at £10, which covers both days. For tickets and more info, visit www.godsbride.org.uk
